Introducing eXroid: Revolutionizing Haemorrhoid Treatment in Malaysia

Getz Healthcare Malaysia proudly announces the launch of eXroid, a revolutionary electrotherapy technology for the treatment for all 4 grades of internal haemorrhoids. As the first of its kind in Malaysia, eXroid sets a new standard in minimally invasive care, offering an innovative option for general surgeons, colorectal surgeons, and gastroenterologists.

The official launch took place in the first week of November at three prominent locations: Hospital University Putra Malaysia (UPM), KPJ Klang Specialist Hospital, and Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur. This marked the beginning of an exciting new journey in haemorrhoid treatment for the Malaysian medical community.

The First eXroid Case in Malaysia and Asia Pacific

The first-ever eXroid procedure in Malaysia—and across the Asia Pacific—was successfully performed at UPM, a prestigious teaching government hospital. The event drew immense interest, with the entire specialist surgery clinic attending the CME presented by Dr. Mark Hudson-Peacock from eXroid. Esteemed colorectal surgeons from various private practices also attended, expressing enthusiasm about adopting this cutting-edge technology. The procedure was observed in-person by the doctors and via live stream by the nursing team. 

The procedure itself was a testament to the potential of eXroid. The patient, who demonstrated remarkable patience and cooperation, reported no pain or discomfort throughout. The performing surgeon noted significant shrinkage of the haemorrhoids, highlighting the effectiveness of the treatment.

Expanding into Private and Public Hospitals

Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur became the first private hospital to perform an eXroid procedure, marking another major milestone. Meanwhile, the KPJ group of hospitals is gearing up to adopt the technology, with exciting launch events already hosted in KPJ Klang, Kajang, and Rawang.
