Nestled in the heart of Borneo, Sarawak captivates with its rich tapestry of culture and breathtaking landscapes. Recently, our Clinical Education Division had the privilege to conduct two impactful user training sessions in this vibrant state, marking another step forward in advancing healthcare delivery.

At Sarawak Heart Centre, we provided training on Bioptimal's Thermodilution (TD) Catheter for the Critical Care Unit (CCU), reinforcing its role in Right Heart Studies. While thermodilution technology has been the standard for over 50 years, Bioptimal’s unique Safety Wedge design sets its catheter apart by reducing the risk of Pulmonary Artery Rupture. This ensures safer procedures while maintaining the accuracy needed for diagnosing conditions like Right Heart Failure.

Meanwhile, at Sarawak General Hospital, we conducted an EKOS user training session for the Interventional Radiology team. This was a competency-focused session designed to help the team gain confidence and proficiency in using EKOS, ensuring they can independently manage pulmonary embolism and thrombosis cases with greater efficiency and reduced reliance on external support.
